Baggotonia Festival THIS WEEK
The inaugural Baggotonia Festival takes place later this week on Friday 20th and Saturday 21st September. The SGCRA have been delighted to support this initiative as it has taken shape over the last year.
The inaugural Baggotonia Festival is an exciting celebration of the community, history, arts, culture, entertainment and people - past, present and future – in the area emanating from Baggot Street Bridge - an area known as Baggotonia.
The Baggotonia Festival 2024 programme includes three different strands; Culture, Community and Celebration.
Current events include: Plein Air Painting Competition, Community Expo, Culture Trail Walks from Dylan Hotel, Poetry, Film of the Festival – ‘Ghosts of Baggotonia’ by Alan Gilsenan, Book of the Festival - Prodigals and Geniuses of Baggotonia by Brendan Lynch, The Little Museum Walk of Shame, Children's Art Exhibition, Community Yoga, and music and celebrations at Waterloo and Searsons!
